Herdwick Barn

Perfect stay for dog-owners wanting to explore this beautiful part of the world Positive: A beautiful & peaceful location. We loved the walk into Sedbergh. The dogs were made to feel very welcome with cosy blankets & biscuits & the garden was perfect for them (& us). The property was converted to a high standard. The communication with the owners was excellent. Negative: The bed was very soft. I was surprised to find that there was an extra charge for bringing dogs as the property is promoted as pet-friendly (thought this would be included in the price).

Great cottage with everything you'd need. Comfortable, homely and warm. Ideal for a weekend break with family and dogs!

Spotlessly clean and equipped to a very high standard. Great large enclosed garden for dogs. Fantastic sitting area with a great view. Respectablw walk into Sedbergh plenty of dales walks from the front door. Loved it.

A Destination in itself - highly recommended Positive: Everything! The cottage was immaculate. It was cozy & comfortable in every way. We loved the attention to detail in all the interiors & the quality of all the kitchen equipment and appliances. The wood burning fire was a lovely addition to the coziness of the place. But the highlight was the expansive view from the cottage & the beautiful lounge area outside. While this retreat was out of the way from all the sites we wanted to see, we felt this cottage was a destination in itself & an ideal location to spend quality time with our friends. We only have the fondest memories here & would highly recommend to anyone. To the owner & managers of this gem - thank you for sharing it with us & for maintaining it in such high standards. We felt warmly welcomed & you’ve quietly equipped it to make it our own while we were there, so we took good care of it too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

We had a great time. Everything was perfect for our needs with high end cutlery and crockery, knives that worked, beds that were comfortable. There was an overall sense of cleanliness and hygiene. The multifuel fire was easy to light and get going and this gave us really cosy evenings sitting on the sofa and watching TV (which also was uncomplicated and straightforward). There was plenty of fuel for the fire, the outdoor space was lovely and our dog had a great time in the safe area just outside the barn. Great touches like enough hooks on the wall for dog stuff, anoraks, rucksacks and so on. All in all, Herdwick Barn worked for us and we're hoping to revisit.
