Lake District short stay. Positive: The location is fantastic - walking distance into the town and restaurants. Easy to access the property. The responses from the property managers was very prompt. Negative: The apartment is a bit 'tired' decor-wise, and the carpets, furniture and curtains could do with deep cleaning. I definitely did not like being forced to either pay an additional £40 or leave a deposit of a huge amount (£400) as "insurance" against any damage or breakage. Firstly, there was no guarantee the deposit would be refunded, and we would have had to literally photograph everything inside the property in case they decided we had caused any existing damage - of which there was a lot. Secondly, if you want an extra £40 insurance, then just charge it the price? The deposit amount (which they keep until they decided to release it) is extortionate. That was a big negative for me.

Enjoyed our stay in the accommodation. Positive: Convenient location. Good facilities. Comfortable. Negative: Couldn’t make tv in twin bedroom work. My young granddaughter would have liked to have watched tv while adults talking in living room.

Important details are hidden on the web. Positive: The apartment is well-equipped and spacious. Good location Negative: It's not mentioned that it's on the main street, which is noisy, and directly opposite, with a view from the living room, of a gas station. The second bathroom, with a shower in a separate room (no photos shown on the website), is tiny (photo attached). Once the booking and payment were made, an email was received with two deposit options: a £400 hold, refundable if there was no damage, without a list of items, or a non-refundable £40 charge to the card. Since no list was provided, I chose the second option, so the cost of the apartment, as the deposit is non-refundable, increased by this amount.
